Would it be weird starting an article about travelling with lines about dreaming? Because the latter is bodily inactive, your body is physically not leaving the spot, so how could it be connected? Let me first put the quote about dreaming on the table and then it´ll be my pleasure to explain the connection afterwards . And to answer the question of if this would be weird or not: Who actually cares? Being weird can solve a lot of problems as travelling do too.
Here we go:
‘Dreams – it is immersion in the unknown, transition to a new state, the weightlessness. You take off the ground but you do not lose the gravity. When you wake up in a place that you have been dreaming of for so long, you feel no weight, but only energy.’ [Epizode Festival – Dream on]
I´m one of these humans who barely remember their dreams and still I’m resonating to these lines because what they describe is how travelling feels for me. It’s energizing me. Being out there and seeing all these beautiful places makes me feel alive. Full of curiosity and excitements I can feel life running through my veins, love entering my heart and happiness fulfilling my soul. Gratitude is what I feel as the result.
You are writing this book
Seeing my life as a book and writing it with awareness -like chapter by chapter- with having this pen in my hand choosing the words by creating the content with every adventure I decide to go on, is the best part of travelling and the best part of living even. Once you´ve understood that you are your own creator like the author of this roman, you´ll start having fun with creating your life. Nobody else is writing this book for you, except you´ll let them. Be aware of the words you choose and start writing a story that you will be happy to read when you will be that old that your life is lived and no chapter can be added anymore. Do you wanna read a happy end? Write one. ♡
Finding yourself out there
Travelling made me realising exactly this. The further away I travelled the closer I got to myself. The more I went through the more I grew (more about: facing your wolf to meet your soul). You know, the more you grow the more you´ll realise that you are the only one writing this story and that your life is totally under your control. You just have to take the lead. There is no reason to be shy doing it even if you are not born as a leader, you don´t have to because there isn´t a crowd to step in front of. If you´ll fall the only one you´ll be responsible for is you. That makes failuring to an acceptable option that you don´t have to fear of because there will be no judgements, no complainings, no critisings. In best case analysing and reflecting is what there will be instead. The result of your reflections is the wisdom you´ve earned. That´s why failures aren´t bad at all. The contrary is the true, they are helpful if you see them as what they are: a lesson learned.
Where the magic happens
Travelling learns you a lot of lessons, more than your daily routine at home ever could do. Out of the comfortzone is where the magic happens. Magic is the key, a key tool in the task of finding the joy of life. As far as I´m concerned, I´ve never felt magic in my choosen hood or hometown even. I felt love for the places, that´s for sure. No doubt about that! But that a place, set up, surrounding or constellation felt magical, I only had this feeling abroad like out there in the world which is a very magical place itself. It´s about the unknown, the exotic, the strangers, the people that you meet along the way and that you´ll make to your friends while walking a part of the path together.

Choose the energy that you´ll soak in
Energy is in everything because everything is energy. Well while travelling you are constantly moving and by choosing your destinations you automatically choose the energy that you´ll soak in.
Especially travelling solo creates a very intense energy. Sometimes it a pretty quite one and sometimes a very dynamic one. It gives you space, much more as having a friend with you could give you. It opens you up for connections with the people around you and it gives you the freedom to discover the place around you aswell as yourself inside of you, in the timing and in the order you need to. Actually, the louder it is around you the less you can hear yourself: big city noises, lots of people, `party only` or other similar distractions are contraproductive to go on an inner chat.
Travelling gives you what you want when you are courageous enough to ask for
The more silence you are into the more you´ll be able to listen to your inner voice. Travelling gives you that silence, if you want to. It gives you what you want actually, you just have to be courageous enough to ask for. I love travelling the most when I have the freedom of time means having enough time to go with the flow without being in a hurry because free time is running out. Imagine: You stay as long as you feel like and then you take the next plane when you want to…
“You take off the ground but you do not lose the gravity. When you wake up in a place that you have been dreaming of for so long, you feel no weight, but only energy.”
Traveling is the energy I need, the one I want to fill my veins up with. There is no place I´d rather be than out here, right here and right now.
Feeling completely energized. Feeling blessed.
Life is good.
Story behind the lines
I travelled to Phu Quoc, the biggest vietnamese island, like ten month ago. Vietnam was one of my destinations while backpacking Southeast Asia and Phu Quoc in the very Downsouth was where I started my four weeks discovery through the country, aaall the way up to the North like Halong Bay, Sapa and Hanoi. It was the beginning of the new year when I´ve reached the island, which is located in the Gulf of Thailand directly in front of Cambodia and this was where I was coming from before. It was NYE when I was celebrating in the biggest cambodian underground rave in the middle of the jungle and a dj buddy of mine told me about the Epizode Festival taking place in Phu Quoc when I was telling him that it´s where I´m going next. Well I checked the line up, had connections, made it to the guestlist and had amazing days out there! The best festival I´ve personally ever been too, which could be taken as a big compliment out of the mouth of a festival booker herself 😉 When the teaser for the next edition crossed my online way today, the dream-quote came with it. When you are still with me… this is how the article hat started and this is how it´s going to end right now.
Dream on.
