– about courage. about the way through. about you. –
Your wolf is the one who is the brave heart inside you. The one you meet when you are out there, fearing the unknown. The one who joins you to give you the company you need to make your way through. It´s the part of you which is giving you the courage which is needed sometimes; and I´m not talking about fearing the dark road back home. Altough you can call him even there. We know the wolf as a wild, undomesticated animal what enerally isn´t obeying. But this one is different because this one is inside you. It´s yourself, so you can ask for it´s company like a buddy that you call for support if you are in need.
TABULA RASA
Tabula Rasa is about situations in life when you know you have to do certain things; the unpleasant but necessary ones. It´s about taking the decision to go out there, no matter the weather, ready for passing through cold storms and scary thunders with the knowing to have a better result in the end. Strong actions connected with an awareness like „tabula rasa“, in sense of „cleaning the table“, will close the old and will make place for venturing new beginnings. It´s about giving a voice to things which are not pleasant and talking the truth for the better. It´s about the decision to walk with open eyes too see yourself in a clear position instead of closing the eyes and being undefined only because that option is the more easier one. When you come to the realisation that something doesn´t make you happy anymore. When you recognise that it´s time to close a chapter because this one is long overdue. Like: One way? U Turn! Now.
That won´t be a walk in the park, nope!
You have it in your guts that going there, taking the pen, writing the last lines of that page to finish and turn it might bring you some trouble or even hurt you. That´s totally fine because this is the awareness about exactly these side-effects what is the best preparation. Arranging that eye-in-eye situation which is a confrontation, yes, which is a duel and not a duett, yes, which means being ready for feelings like anger, sadness and dissapointments that might cross your way, yes, that won´t be a walk in the park, nope! But the good thing is: You don´t have to go there alone. Who are you going to call?
Canis Lupus, your Canis Lupus
And who are you going to meet? Who is that wolf? And what kind is he of?
Every creature´s character is individual. Wolves are too. But there are some attributes they all have in common. These are some special personalities with specific attitudes. Strengths like being confident, supportive, strong but kind, loyal and super focused. Being generous natural leaders, wolves are clear-headed and strong-minded. They have a sharp intelligence and deep connection with instincts.
Even if you aren´t an alpha, no worries, the wolf is findable in you too because not all the wolves are leading the pack. There are dominant ones and sub-dominates and they can switch the roles as it´s needed in their interaction with their pack. Always willing to compromise in order of getting a job done. In contrast to the belief, they have a calming mind not an aggressive one. But sure they are tough if they need to be. A balance of strength and kindness.

Meeting your wolf is meeting your soul
And the best part of meeting your wolf is you will meet yourself, your real self, the self under the layers, your core personality. We consist of concepts, packed in layers like the layers of an onion. Meeting your wolf is going deep, deep inside to the essence of ourselves. In short, where the challenge is the biggest there you´ll meet yourself the closest, the deepest. We think we know ourselves, know who and what we are until we are confronted with a situation which shows us that we are more than we know so far. What we are at the surface is what we are supposed to be. We are labeled by our surroundings, by society, family, clichés, by jobs and gender. Concepts which are telling us who we are and how we have to act. Meet your wolf to meet your soul: Breaking through these layers means discovering ourselves and by confronting us with the unpleasant things we´ll find out how strong we really are and what we are able to do. Our reactions in these moments of confrontation are authentic. There is no time to put a mask on or play a role. The confrontation wih the outside is a confrontation with our inside. The same kind of effect leaving your comfort zone has: meeting the magic and getting to know you better.
As Robert Frost* once said: „The only way out is through.“ This way isn´t just the only one, this is the best one. It´s straight forward. It´s about being real. It´s the straightest way you could choose and it´s the one that grows you. Doing this with awareness, taking this decision to go through something whatever it might take, is calling for your inner wolf. This braveness is your wolf.
As the lotus needs the mud to grow.
Make that wolf to your best friend; hang out with him more often. Be tough if you need to be. Listen to your intuition and instincts. Be that clear-headed and strong minded someone. Build up that sharp intelligence in dealing with important matters. Have that courage to make your way through.
That´s where you´ll meet yourself. That´s where you´ll find yourself,
Because: „Everything you go through, grows you.“
AHU!
BEHIND THE LINES. I was creating the first draft of this article on the way to Kathmandu. It was my ninth travel to Nepal already but the first time that I was heading there with mixed feelings. I knew this time wouldn´t be a full pleasure. I knew it wouldn´t be a pleasure at all. I went to close a chapter which isn´t always an easy ride as it wasn´t easy going there to do so. But I did. With the full awareness to face it whatever the result might be. I was worrying that I even have to close the whole book even. As a woman running with wolves, as that one who would come out of the forest leading that pack, my innerwolf gave me the company that I needed to have confidence and trust. I made my way through. Chapter closed. New ones in progress. Still writing that story! There couldn´t be a happier me no matter how sad the ending has been. I´m thankful.
Man, I grew a lot – as i always do in Kathmandu. #soultown
*Poem (written 1915) by Robert Frost
A Servant to Servants
By good rights I ought not to have so much
Put on me, but there seems no other way.
Len says one steady pull more ought to do it.
He says the best way out is always through.
And I agree to that, or in so far
As that I can see no way out but through.
